    A good laugh

Had to take the good lady for a abdominal ultrasound this morning at 8.30.
Slick we were out at 09.10.
Whilst sitting and waiting a Guy next to me, said
    ”you in for a scan”
    No I replied, why
Ive seen you here before that’s why, not this time I said.

Im in for a check CT scan as I had kidney cancer.
    Both kidneys,
No just the right one which they removed and I had chemotherapy for 7 months.

    Quote
    I am cured now
    great I said wonderful.
    Response from the guy

Yes I cured it myself, I blended 2 lbs of carrots a day and drank all of it.
Really I asked it wasn’t the surgery and chemo
    God no he said
    it was the carrot juice
    .
Ahh I said, that explains why your skin is yellow as I thought you were anemic.
    He laughed and said,
Drink carrot juice my boy and you will be strong and healthy.
Boy! , the carrot juice must have affected his eyes calling me boy.

    So folks remember
It was the carrots that did the job, not the surgery of chemotherapy.
    we departed me smiling.
    The good lady said
”the man you were talking to doesn’t look very well, his skin is yellow”
    Carrots I replied, carrots.

    Johnr,
Could have been a sketch from the two Ronnies I agree, never the less the guy was serious, I think !.
Came home Anne had breakfast and we went shopping.
Bought a load of carrots in Sainsbury, couldn’t find snake oil in the pharmacy section though. Lol.
Life just isn’t the same without a little humour.
    Brigitte,
When I was a kid a friend Basil Crouchers mom ate raw carrots every day and gradually took on the pallor of severe anemia. Yellow until her doctor (our family doctor also) Alan Millican told her to stop.
she gradually returned to a normal pallor.

They do with hospital meals po, that is when one is on ward.
Mind you the food is ghastly to say the least and is far removed from supposedly a healthy diet.
One can generally describe the food as , Yughh.
Take last Thursday morning before I was discharged they gave me a coffee, which was of the Second World War type called Erzatz and a corned beef sandwich which consisted of dry bread, no margarine or butter, corned beef that came I assume from some type of animal alive during the Jurassic period and required carbon dating to identify the approximate year it was made.
