I also appreciate your comments. Currently I am leaning toward getting just the penile implant and hope that when inflated the additional pressure on the urethra will help with the leakage.

Please update us after your next appointment. I want all the info I can get before my appointment next month.

I have read many of the comments on the franktalk forums and see that the majority of those that have implants wish they would have done it sooner.

I will be having the AUS800 installed by a very seasoned Dr on Monday, the 8th. He's lecturing in China prior to that, so I feel comfortable. I will take being a little uncomfortable over wearing 10 big pads per day. Hope to report back favorable results. I'd like an implant, but figure I'll tackle one thing at a time. Got a GF for 4 years and really don't know what to do. She is supportive so far. Good luck to all you guys!

Hello All. Sorry for the tardy reply, I had the appointment on October 11, and the urologist did a procedure called a cystoscopy. Not much fun, a bit painful. The PA gave me a numbing gel before the actual scoping. The good news is that I have plenty of healthy tissue for the surgery to be successful. The SRT did not leave much scar tissue, so Im good to go. Sadly, I kind of left there without feeling to confident. Not in the doctor, hes done a zillion, but in how this is going to effect my daily life. I brought up all the questions posed by brother Roblee, and the urologist said Rob is right there are no sure fire panaceas. I got a lot of the old each patient is unique. Im getting the feeling I need to talk to guys who have had it done. I booked the surgery, it is a overnight stay, and BCBS covers it all. Im going to continue in my quest for answers, this time by going to the source. Be in touch....MM

Mjimsr: Just the AUS 800. This Uro will only do one thing at a time.....he said there is to much going on to implant both devices. Kind of liked that answer, wants to see how the first thing goes. I have a couple of people I will be talking to regarding this, and how it all works into every day life. I am having second thoughts, IDK. Report back soon, MM

Feel free to call anytime. Right now I may be a bit down today because I had a pre-op consult yesterday regarding the AUS and I had to re-live the entire experience in my head, which made for a restless, sleepless night last night. Otherwise, you've got my number if and when you need it.

Well I finally had my appointment regarding the penile implant. We decided to move forward with surgery on November 30th. For now that will be all I have done. His main comment about the surgery is that it will hurt for a week or two.

Based on urodynamics study I had done, and our discussion, my leakage will not be addressed right now. Since it is mainly when trying anything sexually, he is confident that the implant when pumped up will solve this. If it is still a problem down the road we might consider the sling.

Thanks again to RobLee and MM16 for their contributions.
