I had a 6 month Lupron shot and felt no effects. No hot flashes, no soreness, no muscle loss, no weight gain. I dropped 10 lbs in anticipation of gaining 10 lbs and I upped my exercise to avoid muscle loss.
There is no right or wrong decision for treatment. Make the decision you are comfortable with and can live with and not second guess if all does not go optimally.

Had my first Lupron injection in late March 2019. No hot flashes, no weight gain, very mild soreness at injection site that lasted about one week. Just finished 37 sessions of radiation on June 6. So far only side effect appears to be mild tiredness. All in all, not too bad an experience.

gandalf1369, that was my exact experience.

I'm hearing of more and more guys going through radiation post surgery that suffer no side effects.

My experience has been similar. I had a six month Lupron shot on December 27th, and daily Casodex starting Jan. 10th (long story). Eight weeks of radiation ending May 21st. I had some joint pain initially which subsided after a bit. Minor hot flashes which also subsided after about two months. Fatigue which may be just as related to the fact that I am overweight and out of shape. All in all, the whole experience has been an inconvenience rather that a catastrophe.

Thanks for sharing your experiences guys ... sounds like we are all pretty similar, and will know more when start my 8-weeks of radiation. I am not in perfect shape but pretty active at 5'11 and 190 lbs. Would like to drop another 5 to 10 lbs of tummy fat.

Notice some of you all got the 6 mo Lupron injections vs the 3 mos like I did. Wonder what the pros and cons are of the 6 month vs the 3 month Lupron injection ?
