    Worried about testicle cancer

Hi everyone. I've been feeling mild testicular pain over the past 5 days, it's not sharp it feels more like they are overly sensitive or something. It's not constant, it comes and goes during the day and sometimes it's on one testicle and sometimes on the other.

It was worrying me so I scheduled an appointment today and my doctor saw me and said that they looked fine, no swelling or redness and she didn't feel any lumps. Since I had no recent trauma and it doesn't hurt or burn when I urinate she said it could be hormonal or maybe the epididymis causing a problem. She told me to take some basic anti-inflammatory pills for the next few days but she also ordered a testicular ultra sound, in her own words "just to be safe".

So what's worrying me is that if she said it all looked okay and normal why did she schedule me an ultrasound? I'm scared I might have something bad, can a lump be undetectable by a physical exam and only seen on an ultrasound? Do you need an ultrasound to diagnose epididymitis?

It's kinda unrelated but I do suffer from OCD so I tend to obsess even more than normal people and I get really anxious googling symptoms. I also get hyper sensitive towards anything happening in my body. And I've been feeling a pain on my lower jaw right at the back of it, on the bone, it's very mild only feel it if I open my mouth really really wide like unnaturally wide or if I touch it it feels like it's bruised. Im only worrying about this because I know it's in an area where lymph nodes are situated and they can swell up if you have cancer but there's no swelling and I don't feel any lymph nodes sticking out so maybe it's nothing idk.

As for personal information, I'm male (obviously), 22 years old and healthy otherwise, no known illnesses or conditions (except for the OCD), I'm not under or overweight, I'm active and generally feel well all the time but when something like this happens I get into overdrive.

    So help me out please

The doctor is probably engaged in a little defensive medicine here. Ordering tests is a habit that a lot of docs get into, documents what they did, if there are disputes afterwards, and with insurance making the payment they know few patients will get upset. Ultrasound isn't very invasive.

The fact that she didn't refer you to the urologist is certainly a good sign. GP's rarely treat serious cancers, passing them off to specialists.

Be confident, most cancers are rare diseases for 22 year old men. Let the doctor do their tests, and let them follow through
