    PanCan Advocacy Day

Brigitte and I are both traveling to Washington DC again this year to advocate with our Representatives and Senators for more cancer research funding. There should also be an opportunity for a few research updates that I will post here.

If you have any specific requests on treatment updates, post them here. Each year they give updates on PanCan.orgís Know Your Tumor program which seems to be getting more and more promising.

In the past Iíve carried pictures of forum members to show my representatives who Iím fighting for. This year I lost my father to pancreatic cancer so I will just be highlighting his picture.

Iím following this trip with a trip to Bethesda, MD for another clinical trial. They are offering free screening of people at high-risk for prostate cancer (have germline mutations BRCA1, BRCA2, and others). They also pay for your travel so by combining the trips, my travel to Washington, DC is now free.

Thanks David for always representing us.

If you have any update on the early detection on PanCan, I would like to know that.

Iím here right now and the NCI+PanCan are doing an early detection initiative to follow people >50 years old who have new onset diabetes. These later aged new diabetes cases have shown to have higher incidences of pancreatic cancer.
