The possibility not visited on this site is Quest is not keeping their equipment tolerances to their internal standards and the LLD is variable.
Anything is possible, of course, but there should be regular (perhaps daily) calibration. What's that line from Hamlet... fish and relatives ... no that's not it.

Walked into the local Quest Office in my quest for the holy "Less Than Symbol". Got ratcheted up to a new 866 number. I will call tomorrow. Don't worry, I am not obsessing, I just like to get what I paid for. Michael, not sure? I have my Uro and my GP ordering the tests as my Uro only wanted me to do it every 6 months after my 1 year anniversary so my GP orders the in-betweener. Between vacations, work and just being a hapless spirit, things don't always go according to schedule. Plus the more PSA tests I get is a bit like getting an AA token, sorta of!

Thanks for all the follow-up from you guys.

Have all your post-op psa tests been done by the same lab using the same assay?

I ask this because sometimes Johns Hopkins tests me from their in-house lab, and other times asks me to go to my local LabCorp.

The JH lab uses the Hybritech assay, and LabCorp uses the Roche assay, whose results are 20 percent lower. I have to carefully read what assay was used before I react to seeing the result.
    DOB: May 1944
In Active Surveillance program at Johns Hopkins
Strict protocol of tests, including PHI, DRE, MRI, and biopsy.
Six biopsies from 2009 to 2019. Numbers 1, 2, and 5 were negative. Numbers 3,4, and 6 were positive with 5% Gleason(3+3) found. Last one was Precision Point transperineal.
PSA has varied up and down from 3 to 10 over the years. Is 4.0 as of September 2019.
Hopefully, I can remain untreated. So far, so good.

Just got around to making the call to Quest that I was given the number for and I get this response, "I am sorry the Verizon customer you are trying to reach no longer yada yada"
    Simply amazing!
